This spring a couple of events on the Teams Fishing Australia (TFA) tournament calendar are sure to be well attended, with great gear and cash prizes on offer for competitors. The first event this spring is the Wilson Native Classic catch and release tournament to be staged at Lake Windamere near Mudgee, NSW over the weekend of 11-12 September. The target species for this tournament is the golden perch, aka yellowbelly, which is found in impressive sizes in Lake Windamere and is successfully targeted by lure and fly fishers. A pre-fish prior to the Wilson Native Classic, which will field a maximum of 60 teams, is available from 7am-5pm on Friday 10 September. The competition has a rich cash pool with the 1st placed team to take out $20,000 with THE Latest prizes in between all the way down to $1,000 for 10th place. Teams also go in the hat for a random draw to win a Lowrance HDS-12 Live Combo valued at $4,949 and the biggest golden perch caught provides the lucky angler with a Blade N Tails rod and ATC reel combo from Wilson valued at $500.

The second TFA event of the spring season is the Lowrance Native Classic to be held at Lake Glenbawn in the NSW Hunter Valley on the weekend of 9-10 October. A pre-fish period applies for entrants from 7am-5pm on Friday 9 October.
