Staged by Middle Harbour Yacht Club (MHYC), the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship is set to take place 29-30 November. MHYC’s well-loved regatta is celebrating its 48th anniversary in 2025 and will be the first chance for an offshore hit-out this Sydney regatta season. The start of the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship will be a passage race sailed either to Lion Island (in a northerly breeze) or Cape Baily (in a southerly) on the Saturday. Two offshore windward-leeward races are planned for the Sunday.

The regatta is a key part of Nautilus Marine Insurance’s partnership with MHYC, which also includes supporting the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Harbour Regatta (set to take place 7-8 March 2026). “Our partnership with Nautilus Marine Insurance continues to be a cornerstone of MHYC and the regattas we proudly host,” says MHYC CEO Andrew Forbes. “It’s more than support – it’s a relationship grounded in a shared passion for sailing and the community that surrounds it.” Entries to the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship are still open.
