Maritimo revealed plans for their new to the world at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show earlier this year. Maritimo motor yachts have long been revered for their luxurious craftsmanship, blue water cruising credentials, and their performance and handling in difficult conditions. These forthcoming 50ft models are the proud descendants of Maritimo’s design evolution which continues to deliver new levels of refinement and elegance alongside practical spaciousness, with exceptional build quality, high-efficiency propulsion and reduced drag hull forms.

“Stepping up from a 30 or 40-footer never looked so enticing,” says Maritimo Marketing Manager Simon Stewart of the M50 and S50. “Equally, moving from a larger craft does not mean a contraction in luxury, comfort, ride, performance or overall amenity. All the learnings of the latest generation of Maritimo have been carefully curated into this new compact platform, ready to bring new dreams to boat owners the world over. Derived from extensive customer feedback and market research we have designed two new 50ft vessels that are uncompromising for what our owners want to use this size of vessel for. We’re proud to have designed the largest four-sided enclosed Flybridge in its class with a beam of 5.22m.” We asked Stewart to share some insights about these exciting new additions to Maritimo’s fleet of luxury motor yachts.

What levels of customer interest has Maritimo received since unveiling your plans for the M50 and S50 earlier this year? The popularity and appreciation of the designs that have led to the sales success of this latest generation of Maritimo from 55 to 75 feet have all been distilled down into the new 50 to ensure every time aboard, short or long, is always a joy. The exciting development of the new Maritimo M50 and S50 began in late 2023, and like all Maritimos, the designs and specifications have been shared with loyal owners and prospective clients for their input to then further refine the final product offering.

Leading on from that point, Maritimo is known for fostering close relationships with your owners. Prior to unveiling the 50s talk us through the feedback you received from Maritimo owners around these 50ft vessels? Before unveiling the Maritimo 50s, we actively sought and gathered feedback from our existing owners who had experience with our previous models. This valuable input was instrumental in shaping the development of the 50s. Owners expressed a strong interest in a vessel that balanced the luxury and performance of larger boats with the practical advantages of a more manageable size. They highlighted the need for enhanced onboard space, improved styling, and advanced performance that aligns with Maritimo’s reputation for innovation. We took this feedback seriously and integrated it into the conceptual process. The design of the 50s reflects our commitment to meeting these needs: it features an even more refined, elegant, practical, and luxurious space throughout the craft, combined with high efficiency propulsion, along with legendary build quality and blue-water credentials. By directly incorporating owner insights, we ensured that the 50s not only meet but exceeds the expectations of our Maritimo community.

What types of owners will the S50 and M50 appeal to? Both those looking to upgrade from 30 or 40ft vessels and those who have previously owned larger motor yachts but now like the idea of a 50ft vessel that doesn’t compromise on all luxury, performance, and quality Maritimo is known for. How do you see these new 50ft motor yachts meeting the different needs of these boaters? For owners of smaller boats, the S50 and M50 offer a significant upgrade in space, luxury, and performance. These new models provide the additional room and amenities that come with a 50ft vessel while maintaining ease of handling and manoeuvrability, which are crucial for those used to smaller yachts. Features like expansive living areas, state-ofthe-art navigation systems, and superior build quality will appeal to these owners looking to elevate their boating experience without the complexities of managing a larger yacht. For those who have previously owned larger yachts but are now interested in the 50ft range, the S50 and M50 offer a compelling proposition. These models deliver all the luxury, performance, and quality that Maritimo is renowned for but in a more compact and manageable size. The 50ft yachts are designed to provide an experience that doesn’t sacrifice the high standards of comfort and performance that larger yachts offer. Features like innovative layouts, luxurious finishes, and cutting-edge technology ensure that even experienced yacht owners can enjoy a refined and satisfying experience without the extensive maintenance and operational demands of a larger vessel. Overall, the S50 and M50 are crafted to meet the needs of both groups by combining the best aspects of larger yachts with the benefits of a more manageable size. This approach ensures that all owners can enjoy the high standards of Maritimo craftsmanship and performance in a vessel that fits their current boating lifestyle.
